Re: Just a few photos.
Here's a few more shots.
This one was around 4:40am taken on the same day and before the photos from the post above were shot:
These are from today/yesterday morning:
My brother and I went to look for this spot where a ship was recently beached, but it was out of Dubai in Sharjah(another emirate/state), so we drove out at about 4am went to Sharjah beach, and kept driving till we drove over the border to Ajman!(another emirate/state) Sun was coming soon, and with no beach to shoot, we rushed back to Dubai to see if we can get some of our beaches. I didn't know where to go since I always go to the same beach and same spot, and on the way I suddenly remembered a beach where I took my dog out for a swim once. It was a hidden beach, and what a beauty it was. It was calm(as it always is), but who wants to see a photo of the horizon. I found a few rocks and these were the results. We got there a bit late, so I only managed to get a few shots. If only I had an ND filter or even a polarizer!!
I was planning on going out to the desert tomorrow morning, but I think my car's been blocked by the neighbors and I want to leave when it's dark and I'd rather not bother the neighbors, so maybe that will happen on Saturday, but we'll see!

Re:
Great stuff, beautiful. I like your photos a lot Josh.
I guess you know more about this kind than me, but here are some tips I learned along the way:
1. When you are shooting with a larger depth of field (small hole aperture, big number) it's best to put the aperture to 11 and not higher. For example, 22 gives you a larger depth of field, meaning everything far and near gets sharp, however 11 can make the point of focus a bit more sharp. When you put the aperture to 22, it doesn't really matter where you focus, but you do focus somewhere, and 11 can give a better result on that.
2. I noticed that many of your photos have horizons, and in most cases they are slightly tilted. It doesn't take much to fix it, and a little Photoshop on this can take you a long way in terms of aesthetics. You can play with the lens correction options in PS. Tilt is one thing, you can also try fixing distortions and perspectives as you want.
3. When you are doing long exposures, don't bother getting a remote and doing a 5 minute exposure or something. You already know that lower ISO gives a better result, but when you are shooting with digital you should also take note that it's best not to go beyond 30 seconds, cause just like ISO long exposure can also make noise. So when it's dark, you are on low ISO, and you feel that you need a longer shutter, it's actually better to raise the ISO and not the shutter speed.
4. I hope you are shooting with RAW. For Nikon it should be.. nif? Not sure. Anyways, if you are efficient working with RAW, you may not need Photomatix or HDR in general. I work with just Camera Raw that comes with Photoshop, and do a bit more work on Photoshop afterwards, and works just fine.
Things can differ from camera to camera, you may need to find what works best for you.
Keep up the good work man, and keep sharing.

Re: Just a few photos.
Good tips vash. f16 is usually the max for me. Very rarely do I go all the way to 22. I used 22 on a few desert shots to try and capture how barren it was as far as you could see.
My horizons were really horrible and I've started to learn after the beach shots actually. The desert ones are straight and not just because I noticed crooked horizons on my beach photos, but because most of the shots weren't low, and I had a proper base to stand on so I could take my time looking through the view finder, whereas in the beach shots, I'm standing on sharp rocks(in flip flops) my camera's a few inches away from the water(because it just looks better that way for most of them) and I've got trouble not falling in let alone to crouch as low as possible and look through the viewfinder. One of the first photos I posted recently(the rocks), I was standing on a rock that was the last before it dropped to deeper water(I'd say about 3m). The tripod moved because the a rock it was on moved with the water and made the horizon go completely off, and I took a few shots without checking the viewfinder because I didn't realize! I had to fix it in photoshop. Look at my base(Marked Green):
and check out the original:
So to add to your tips, make sure you have a good base to stand on and a good base for your camera to stand on.
Also, make sure you clean your gear before you go out. I thought I did a thorough job at home about 2 days before I went out and forgot to do it just and I had to spend a bit of time with the heal brush on photoshop fixing this stupid mistake that could've been completely avoided!(Marked in red).
I also fully agree with the RAW thing. I ALWAYS use RAW whenever I go out. It just gives you so much more control over everything when you bring it back. The only time I use JPEG is when I go to do those freelance things. I hate doing it, but my dad hates having the photos run through the conversion process because it takes time on Bridge and a lot of space on his computer(as well as cards when we shoot).
I sometimes blend exposures because I can't afford a GND filter. But That, contrast and sharpening is all that I do with PS. I used to use photomatix before and I love the effect it has on urban/city environments, but I HATE how robotic and cold it makes nature look. It's like a band butchering your favorite song with one of their horrid cover versions.
Also, I forgot to upload these ones:
