Help dread my hair? IN/IL/MI region.

I live between Chicago and the border of Michigan, in Indiana.

Could someone please dread my hair for me? I've tried it and failed.

pics of me are here //www.okcupid.com/profile/Mix_BoudaLycaon/pictures/

currently, my hair is past my shoulders, and I have all the dreading equipment. I just need someone experienced at this to show me the 'ropes'.

I do not live around there, but I would advise growing your hair a little longer before you do if it is the length shown in your avatar. More length will make it easier. You ought to have the supplies ready for anybody who does do it. You will want a metal comb and small elastics, and that is all you will need.

I will preempt reproofs of my advice with my own reputation; criticize at the cost of engaging me in long, drawn out discussion. FYI, Mix, your hair would dread naturally just fine if you wanted to go that route and it would look good in time. Either way, you want more length.

I prolly need better elastics, though.

I tried it naturally, but it ALL ended up in one huge clump.

Well, if you ripped that clump into sections and waited not three months, you would have had some killer locks. Backcombing and backcombed is a pain in the ass, but if you want to do it that way, all you have to do is instruct somebody you know who is patient. That way, I could give you instructions here and you could simply relay those instructions to the person helping you. OR, you could do it yourself. Doing it yourself is your best bet because you have all the control. Just do it over a period of time; watch a bunch of movies and relax while you do it.
