Re: What is your first thought when...

" QUOTE "

well the ten commandments are from early judaism, and it started off polytheist. I think when they left egypt they started focusing on the one that rescued them and decided to devote themselves to him. The original meaning on that one is probably to worship only him.

Hmmm, so theese commandments suppose to come directly from God, and this first one means "worship only me, not the others". That means God himself says there are other Gods?

Polytheist = monolateralist = believe there´s more than one God?

And ty Gazzard emoticon

yeh polytheism is where you believe there is more than one god. monolateralist seems to mean that this god has major self esteem issues and need positive feedback from inferior unwitting creatures who arent allowed to think about their answer while dismissing the other gods.

If i'd fucked up everything as much as our creator had i guess id have self esteem issues too emoticon

1.) What are your thoughts on Jesus?

Maybe a dude named jesus existed, but he was not magical and probably wasn't real

2.) What are your thoughts on Christians?
usually overbearing pricks who try as hard as they can to not be in an INTELLEGENT conversation about religion.

also I laugh as using the bible as proof of christianity. Following that logic starwars and Harry Potter are happening too

Re:

Jesus - Fact or fiction - awesome person. I say that not as a fan of cheap wine or cured disease (though I am), but as someone who admires crossing divisive boundaries, practicing gentle and useful honesty, understanding when to practice restraint and WHEN and HOW to use power.

As for how people use Jesus, or their interpretation of him --- I've seen things I found valuable like forgiveness and peace and things I found to be not just invaluable, but destructive. I try to steer clear of a path that involves those people, but dammit if they don't keep closing in.

Anyhoo, that's my two cents worth. Hope I had enough to spare! :)
