growing an aloe plant question
tried to do a search but only came up with some very old threads...(and please forgive my typos as I've had a stroke since I was last here and still only left hand typing-I think I remember people being particular about that here)
got a small alow plant a few years ago and it died very quickly
more recently got one a little bigger- repotted it right away as instructed (and it did kind of spread alot after that-it had been wraped in a plastic cylinder). Used a mixture of miricle grow and something for sculents and catui.
How often do people water them? I think I drowned my other one. I'm used to growing other typs of plants that need more water.
AND This Part will seem Weird....Do other people notice a sort of "vegie" smell around them...one night seemed cucumbery and one cabagey in the room were i keep it. Not sure I like the smell. If I put it in a more open room- will it eleminate that? I have to keep that room it's in closed up a lot but its the warmest and brightest.
Hope someone can help. Thanks!

Re:
Sorry about the stroke.
I'm wondering why you think an aloe plant is something knotty, and why people here would be experts on that.. And btw I don't know anything about it.
Get well soon. All the best.

Re: growing an aloe plant question
because when I was on here a few years ago there were some threads about using it on your hair. There was even a "recipie" for a mixture -I think chopping it in a food processor. Was going to ask if anyone still had a link to that. I wasn't really sure what section those things were in so wasn't that sure where to put this. Hopefully there is still someone around who knows.

Re: growing an aloe plant question
yes- thanks- that was helpfull- that first one was probably the one I was remembering.
I tried the search but am always disfunctional with them and just came up with that second or 3rd not so helpful thread.
I guess since some people are saying it smells when you blend it that I could be noticing a smell from the plant itself. Hopefull I won't kill this one and if the smell does get to be overwellming I'm sure I'll find a friend to take it in. Thanks again
