Eek! Think I may have fried my dreads!! er, DRIED (overdried) them. Help!

Ok, so now that I've got your attention...

Well, what i believe happened was I used too much baking soda in my deep clean wash today. It felt really try, my hair. But I added in the ACV. Better, but still a little dry. There was a little bit extra in the bottle, so I diluted it and just slowly kept pouring out more through my hair in a rinse. Better and better, but then I ran out.

Not sure if I've just got water in my ears making me feel uncomfortable or if the pH is still off. Just wondered what I should do now. I realize it might be some time before someone responds. i think I could be overreacting, BUT I would still like aftercare help. What should one do if one overuses either BS or ACV??

Thanks!

Re:

next time use acv and bs on your dreads only and don't let it touch your scalp
coconut oil might help in your case, just apply it to your scalp and let it sit there until your next wash

Re:

BS will dry ur hair. So use it once month at most. You can apply aloe vera as a moisturizer for ur locks.

Re:

oh, this was my deep clean folks. and it had been 6months since I last did it. I think I did overreact...just trying to make conversation. (sorry??). but thanks!

actually though, interesting aljpn says don't wash scalp. That's what gets dirtiest! (ok, maybe not for a deep cleaning) But it just feels good to soak your head, like a spa day! Don't you do this? like every so many months?? I understand regular b.s. and acv users might not, but most folks I talk to do.

helraiser-yeah, i really need to find some pure aloe vera.

Re:

what i meant to say was, if you're planning to wash with bS regularly, don't use it by itself, always rinse your hair with the diluted ACV after rinsing your hair with water.
