hey guys i have the same prob, my dreads (not all, but some) are getting thinner at the roots, because i have thin hair, some loose hair don't knot with the dread. some roots are damn thin, so i can see through, and im afraid that they brake one day.

i always flip them (put the dread through the root and take it on the other side out), cuz thats the only way to make the knot, but this way they get all thin as hell.

shouldn't i flip anymore and let them just grow??

help!!!

Re: Dreads getting thinner at the roots

just a question for [sign in to see URL] you use dye on the dreads? or is your hair naturally blonde? I have heard of people's dreads getting so long that the weight pulls sections of them apart but i have never heard of dreads just falling out. I was just curious if it was some kind of dye incident or something. emoticon

Re: Dreads getting thinner at the roots

oh yea and i forgot to say i also had a problem with some of the locks getting really thin at the roots but despite wanting to mess with them i just let them go. I also have some roots getting really really flat and wide. some of the ones i pull back have started to get really flat and wide. Its all good though.
