Mostly because I was a butcher on a family farm for years, and I can't eat meat without seeing the look in a rabbit's eyes as I killed it.
approx. 6-12 rabbits per batch. . .one batch every 4-7 weeks. . .for about 3.5-4 years. Not to mention the chickens, the cattle, and the Thanksgiving turkey.
I still feel like a horrible excuse for a living creature with all the blood on my hands.
i understand. you just gotta make up for it now and help anyway you can

Re: What is your reason for being vegetarian or vegan?
I'm not completely vegetarian, I only occasionally eat meat. Most good diets consist of a little bit of meat. I'm more of a pescetarian though, I love fish.
But in today's world it really is unnecessary to eat so much meat. Especially where I live, it's so easy to become a vegetarian. Oh and the meat industry is fucked up...if you haven't already, you should read Fast Food Nation.
